Turn your passion into progress! Conemaugh Valley Conservancy is a non-profit organization formed by everyday people to protect and restore our natural, cultural, and historic resources.
When you join our CVC family, you make a difference. We divide each membership fee between CVC Operations, our Kiski-Conemaugh Stream Team, and West Penn Trail. Each additional dollar you donate, will go directly to the initiative closet to your heart. You choose.

Volunteer Memberships
We can always use a helping hand! Volunteer for trail maintenance, water monitoring, or to help with CVC Events and we’ll give you a membership for completing 15 hours of volunteer time.

Volunteer
If you love spending time in the outdoors, we have many opportunities to get outside and make a positive impact. The Stream Team collects water samples from over 20 tributaries of the Conemaugh and Kiskiminetas Rivers, and the West Penn Trail Council cleans and maintains the trail. You can also lend us a hand with CVC events and outings. Let us know how you’d like to help.
To show our appreciation, we’re happy to announce that all volunteers that contribute 15 hours will earn a CVC Membership.
Make a Donation
Many of us share a passion for conservation, but with busy schedules, lack the time to put in the sweat equity it takes to clear forest paths and collect water samples. Consider a gift to the West Penn Trail Maintenance Fund or Adopt-A-Site to support our clean water initiatives. You choose where to put your donation dollars and help us to bridge the gaps in funding for vital CVC programs. Our simple online form makes giving easy.
The CVC Endowment

Help us secure funding by planning for your financial and philanthropic goals. The Community Foundation for the Alleghenies houses an endowment for the long-term financial security of Conemaugh Valley Conservancy and it’s initiatives.
We encourage and welcome Planned, Major, and Tribute Gifts to sustain our conservation and outdoor recreation efforts, including Bequests, Gifts of Retirement Funds, Charitable Gift Annuities, and Gifts of Life Insurance Policies.

GoodShop – Earn money for CVC while you shop GoodShop provides CVC with a percentage (up to 37%) of every purchase made through the GoodShop portal. On a beautiful day, 166 participants competed in the kayak-cycle-run triathlon along the Conemaugh River at Saltsburg. The winner for the men was David Burkwall with a combined time of 2:06:47, and the winner for the women was Valerie Christoff who came in at 2:25:55.
